The Kander 100 experience will be remembered by every scout for their entire life through a selection of on-site and off-site programme and experiences.
The on-site programmme is the heart of the event and is designed to challenge every participant in the different areas of development, aiming to connect with the Global Challenges and Youth trends. Including workshops, educational spaces, activities and games located either at KISC, in the village of Kandersteg and the nearby surroundings. The off-site programme gives the opportunity to participants to experience and explore the surroundings and marvel at the diverse nature of the Swiss alpine environment.
International Friendship: Make new international friends while trading stories, scarves and badges and take part in exhibitions, workshops, perfomances and games
International Campfire: A true celebration of international scouting as songs, skits and stories are shared round the fire in a truly unforgettable experience
International Ceremonies: An explosion of music, colour and culture and international exchange
1st of August Celebration and Parade: Celebrate both Switzerland’s National Day and the anniversary of Baden-Powell’s first Scout Camp with a carnival, parades, games, activities, bonfires, fireworks and one special celebration
Hiking and Alpine Adventures: With a selection of Guided Hikes and Alpine Experiences to choose from across every level of skill, from trying something new to providing challenge and honing advanced skills
Challenge Activities: Challenge yourself and face your fears with challenge activities from zip-wires and crate stacking to water sports and wide games
Hut Experience: At an additional cost, discover what it’s like to hike and spend a night high up in a mountain hut and experience the beauty of the mountains like never before
External Activities: Kander 100 is perfectly placed close to a variety of external activities, available at an additional cost – from paragliding to river rafting, canoying to sky diving, waterfalls to caves, there’s plenty to explore!
Cultural Celebration Day: Explore the world from the campsite as every group and country showcase their traditions, food, songs, dances and culture and brings it to the stage in the cultural ceremony
Kandersteg Village Activities: The village, just a short walk from the centre, is full of activities you can participate in during Kander 100, from exploring the history of Kandersteg and the Scout Centre to swimming in the village pool
Activities and Games from Around the world: Throughout the week, take part in activities and games from around the world across the campsite
Discover Switzerland: With a short walk to the train station, there are plenty of exciting places to visit nearby to truly discover the best of Switzerland and it’s local history and culture
Service Project: Participate in a choice of service projects around Kandersteg, proposed and led by Kander 100 participants, completing them and leaving a real impact by the end of Kander 100
Spiritual Development: Discover new worldviews and new perspectives while appreciating shared values and connections and trying new spiritual experiences
Global Challenge Workshops: Identify, collaborate on and attempt to solve the challenges facing the world
Life Skills Workshops: A chance to learn new Scouting skills while developing and sharing those you know already
